Garage punk in the vein of Ty Segall, FIDLAR crossed with big name 90s influences- Weezer, Pumpkins, et al, and some Gordon Gano vox. Higher production than typical of the genre- fairly polished, maybe owing to the major label (so play if you want to prove that majors can put good stuff out; don't if you can't stand them; also they were on Burger before this). Probably has a lot of appeal/worth for kids growing up on bands like Green Day, Gaslight Anthem who might not know more, better stuff exists; hits that pop + punk combo with some grit too.
1 (3:06) Pummelling buzzing riffs, garage-screamed vox, indie rocky "oooh-ooh-oooh-ooh-oooh"s, solo
2 (2:14) Ringing guitars, crunchy, Black Sabbath feeling
*3 (2:28) Poppy rhythm, handclaps, mass appeal, catchy; harmonica riffs second half
4 (1:31) Crunchy, straightforward
FCC FUCK BUT **5 (2:49) Bouncy melancholy-tinged fun, real catchy, indie rock "ooh"s at end
6 (2:26) Slower, a little dark, concerns young people party problems re: kissing, drinking
7 (2:28) Simple drumbeat, guitar noise + big riffs over it, unintelligible distorted vox
8 (4:07) FCC SHIT, also says "MY DICK IS SOFT" (quite passionately, too) 90s frustrated feel, crunchy guitars
9 (2:55) Slow loud crunchy plod, screeching guitars, Gano/Segall style vox alternate
*10 (2:27) Slow but energetic; big 90s feeling a la pre-97 Radiohead + garage-post-punk guitars
11 (3:39) Slow, acoustic guitars, vox a little whiny; cello, backing vox, indie rock ballad
12 (6:21) FCC SHIT Closer feel; crunchy. Ends at 3:37; bonus track at 4:42 distorted one man folk-punk
