Andrew Bird is the pitch perfect, singer, violinist, guitarist, scarf wearing whistler who has become the darling of the underground songwriting world. He is a brilliant composer and has a knack for layering and orchestrating songs but keeping them sounding open and simple. His voice reminds me of Jeff Buckley at times weaving between registers with pitch perfection. This album is very dynamic with subtle ballads and rocking stompers alike with clever lyrics throughout. Check it out yo! –the bAWd of eUPHONY
** (1:05) Instrumental violin layering. Beautiful!
*** (4:42) Standout track. Simple moody acoustic guitar, toy piano and vibes. Beautiful builds. I love it
** (5:00) odd song. folky intro. Moody violin loops and whistling carry throughout. Very cool with dirty guitar builds.
* (2:52) Rocker led by violin lines. Upbeat.
** (2:51) Slower swingy number with a acoustic guitar and brushed drums.
*** (4:28) Cool moody groove with cool guitar lead. Violin loop roots the songs. Awesome violin solo!
** (4:10) solo guitar and vox with violin line and brushed snare. Beautiful lines and swells.
** (4:32) Weird & dreamy. Electro beats and great vocal lines. Very cool
*** (3:37) Awesome groove. Gets very epic. Cool solos, really moves.
* (4:58) Mid guitar ballad. Nice
** (4:21) Very cool guitar and whistling intro. Beautiful ballad. Political?
** (1:09) Cool dreamy interlude
* (4:44) Guitar & vocal intro. Electronic pulse carries song. Epic and hopefull.
