Los Lobos: Los Lobos Goes Disney FCC: Clean, unless they managed to sneak an expletive in Spanish. (reviewed by “Uncle Steve”)
Wow! Los Lobos instrumentation and singing (some in Spanish) meets classic Disney songs. Genius! Some of it is forced & campy (think “The Wiggles”), but recommended tracks are rise above that.
Overall: Much of this is just novelty. Vocal and instrumental performances and production are top-notch.
Recommended Tracks: 1 (Ska rhythm and vocals in Spanish), 3 (presented as a traditional Mexican ballad), 6 (beautiful ballad, Randy Newman-penned), 8 (swinging version of “Cruella de Vil”), 13 (Surf guitar + accordion lead the “When You Wish Upon a Star/It’s a Small World” instrumental medley).
