From Rune Grammofon, purveyor of all our favorite things Norwegian, comes another block o’ instrumental rawk, all nice and cerebral. The Trio draws on the same hyper, jazzy style as other RG artists like Bushman’s Revenge and Krokofant. But there’s some straight-up heavy metal worship going on here also—Black Sabbath with some of the fuzz cleared away. Favorites: 3, 5, 7, 8, 9. No words, no FCCs.

1. (5:55)—Mid-tempo. Disjointed riffage. A bit mathy, but chill.
2. (4:27)—Slow, haunted, head-nodding.
3. *(5:13)—Mid-tempo, funky, loose. Lots of soloing.
4. (4:10)—Slow, sultry, relaxed.
5. *(2:50)—Fast, thrashy. Music for doing donuts in the parking lot.
6. (5:55)—Slow, shuddering, toward stoner-rock. Fast intro and end.
7. *(3:02)—Medium-fast, funky. Drum solo! Frenzied second half.
8. *(1:55)—Slow, calm, really pretty.
9. *(3:03)—Drumless, desolate desert music. Epic, noisy ending.
10. (5:18)—Medium-slow, swaggery. Soft middle section.
